1 Use of incoming caller line indentification / AMERICAN TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY
This invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing customized greeting messages from a switch-based voice messaging service (337). Advantageously, special messages may be left for identified callers (301,303,304). The invention further relates to a method and apparatus for determining which of a plurality of numbers received in a common channel signaling message (323,327, 329) is to be used as the ICLID number for a specific call. The candidate ICLID numbers include the caller station telephone number (ODN), the caller's calling card number (CC), or a special number (IN) provided by the caller. Advantageously, such an arrangement can be used to identify callers who are calling away from their home or business telephones.

3 A RESONANT CONVERTER / AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION DENMARK APS, US
The invention relates to a resonant converter (200, 300). The resonant converter (200, 300) consists of a furst circuit, primarily a DC circuit (201, 301) connected to a resonant circuit (207, 307) which is further connected to a switch/filter circuit (212, 312) which is connected to a second circuit, primarily an AC circuit (219, 319). The proposed resonant converter (200, 300) is unique in that the resonant converter (200, 300) contains a direct connection between a voltage centre (203, 303) in the DC circuit (201, 301) and a voltage centre (209, 309, 325) in the resonant circuit (207, 307), and that the resonant circuit (207, 307) contains at least one transformer having at least two windings (223, 224, 331, 332, 333, 334), wherein there is a connection from the windings (223, 224, 331, 332) of the transformer to at least first and second switches (215, 216, 315, 316, 328, 329), wherein activation of the switches (215, 216, 315, 316, 328, 329) forms a connection to at least a first node (214, 314, 327), wherein a voltage centre (203, 303) in the DC circuit (201, 301) is also connected to the first node (214, 314, 327) by activation of at least a third switch (213, 313, 326). This results in a resonant converter (200, 300) wherein there are just swiches (213, 215, 216, 313, 315, 316, 326, 328, 329) in the switch/filter circuit (212, 312) so that the number of switches (213, 215, 216, 313, 315, 316, 326, 328, 329) with power loss is as low as possible. The resonant converter (200, 300) moreover has the advantage that there is a direct connection from the centre (203, 303) of the DC circuit (201, 301) to the load (219, 319), without this current path running through the coil (217, 317, 330) to the resonant circuit (207, 307). This minimizes the current load of the coil (217, 317, 330) and hereby the influence on the frequency of the resonant converter in case of a short-circuit on the output of the resonant converter (200, 300) where a great output current is to be provided, while the output voltage is close to zero volt. The reason is that a switch (213, 313, 326) in the switch/filter circuit (212, 312), which is connected to a voltage centre (214, 314, 327), will conduct for by far the greatest part of the time at an output voltage close to zero volt, and that this current path bypasses the resonant circuit (207, 307). In addition, reduced switching across the switches (213, 215, 216, 313, 315, 316, 326, 328, 329) is achieved.L'invention concerne un convertisseur resonnant (200, 300) comprenant un premier circuit, principalement un circuit CC (201, 301) connecte a un circuit resonnant (207, 307) qui est lui-meme connecte a un circuit de commutation / filtrage (212, 312) qui est connecte a un second circuit, principalement un circuit CA (219, 319). On obtient ainsi un convertisseur resonnant (200, 300) comportant des commutateurs (213, 215, 216, 313, 315, 316, 326, 328, 329) uniquement dans le circuit de commutation / filtrage (212, 312), ce qui permet de reduire au minimum le nombre de commutateurs (213, 215, 216, 313, 315, 316, 326, 328, 329) avec perte de puissance. Ce convertisseur resonnant (200, 300) presente en outre l'avantage qu'une connexion directe est etablie entre le centre (203, 303) du circuit CC (201, 301) et la charge (219, 319), sans passage du trajet de courant a travers la bobine (217, 317, 330) jusqu'au circuit resonnant (207, 307). Cela permet de reduire la charge de courant de la bobine (217, 317, 330) et par la meme l'effet sur la frequence du convertisseur resonnant en cas de court-circuit au niveau de la sortie du convertisseur resonnant (200, 300) necessitant un courant de sortie eleve alors que la tension de sortie est proche de zero volt. L'explication est la suivante : un commutateur (213, 313, 326) situe dans le circuit de commutation / filtrage (212, 312), qui est connecte a un centre de tension (214, 314, 327), fera passer le courant la plupart du temps a une tension de sortie proche de zero volt et ce trajet de courant contourne le circuit resonnant (207, 307). Par ailleurs, une reduction de la commutation a travers les commutateurs (213, 215, 216, 313, 315, 316, 326, 328, 329) est obtenue.
4 FREEZING BAG / NISSHO CORP
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe and clean medical bag which has a high impact resistance even at low temperatures, and which has no danger of elution of harmful low molecular weight material by manufacturing it by blow molding of a thermoplastic resin having excellent low temperature characteristics. SOLUTION: A freezing bag is manufactured by blow molding at a processing temperature of 149-327°C using a copolymer of ethylene having a Vicat softening point of 59°C and a density of 0.94gr/cc with methyl acrylate by 20%, for example, as a thermoplastic resin having excellent low temperature characteristics. A high impact resistance can thus be provided at such low temperatures as -80 to -85°C. In addition, adhesion agent to be used for laminating films or manufacturing bags is not used, but a synthetic resin which is completely harmless in toxicity is used, thereby a highly safe and clean medical bag without elution of harmful low molecular weight material can be provided.COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
5 Extremity debridement trough / NISSHO CORP
The present invention entails an extremity debridement trough for receiving and holding an arm or leg extremity of a patient. A trough structure is supported by a mobile frame structure including an adjustable vertical member connected to the trough. The trough is pivotally mounted above one end area to said vertical member of said mobile frame structure and is movable from a generally horizontal operative position to an inoperative vertical position for storage or transport. A sterile field is provided by a disposable plastic liner held within said trough and formed into a funnel about a remote end of the trough. Used cleaning solution used in cleaning a wound on or about an extremity of a patient is allowed to drain from the formed funnel into an underlying container.
