1 Alumina and alumina extrudates and process for preparation thereof / RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LIMITED
The present disclosure relates to an alumina having a surface area in the range of 330-400 m2/g, a pore volume in the range of 1.2-1.7 cc/g, and an average pore diameter in the range of 125-160 Å. The present disclosure also relates to alumina extrudates having a diameter in the range of 1 mm to 3 mm, a surface area in the range of 300-360 m2/g, a pore volume in the range of 0.8-1.3 cc/g and pore diameter in the range of 90-130 Å with a crushing strength in the range of 1-2.5 daN/mm. Further, the present disclosure relates to a process for the preparation of alumina and alumina extrudates. The alumina extrudates can be used as a support for catalyst preparation or as a catalyst or adsorbent in various processes. The process of the present disclosure enhances metal loading capacity, has better metal dispersion, and exhibit delay in deactivation of the catalyst due to mouth pore plugging.

3 POWER SUPPLY UNIT DC-DC CONVERSION / PHILIPS CORPORATE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY GMBH, BE
The invention relates to a power supply unit for direct current to direct current DC-DC conversion having multiple outputs. Such power converters comprise a DC-AC converter 100, a transformer 200 and a plurality of AC-DC onverters 300-i i=1...n each for generating an individual DC-output voltage Vi being provided to a respective load impedance 330-i. Lossy components in said transformer and said AC-DC converters cause undesired voltage drops causing undesired fluctuations of the DC-output voltages. A reduction of said fluctuations of said DC-output voltages is achieved by feeding-back the DC-output voltage of at least one AC-DC converter to said DC-AC converter. Starting from that prior art it is the object of the invention to improve a power supply unit for DC-DC conversion such that a more uniform sharing of the fluctuations of the output voltages is achieved easily and cheaply. This object is achieved according to the present invention by connecting an auxiliary impedance 340 in series to the load impedance connected to one of said AC-DC converters.La presente invention concerne une unite d'alimentation pour la conversion de courant continu-continu comportant une pluralite de sorties. De tels convertisseurs de puissance comporte un convertisseur CC-CA (100), un transformateur (200) et une pluralite de convertisseurs CA-CC (300-i i=1 n) chacun permettant le generation d'une tension de sortie individuelle en courant continu (Vi) fournie a une impedance de charge respective (330-i). Des composants a perte dans ledit transformateur et dans lesdits convertisseurs CA-CC provoquent des chutes de tension indesirables entrainant des fluctuations dans les tensions de sortie en courant continu. On peut obtenir une reduction desdites fluctuations desdites tensions de sortie en courant continu-continu par realimentation de la tension de sortie en continu d'au moins un convertisseur CA-CC vers le convertisseur CC-CA. A partir de cet etat de la technique l'invention propose l'amelioration d'une unite d'alimentation pour la conversion CC-CC de maniere a realiser aisement une repartition uniforme des fluctuations de tensions a moindre cout. Cela est realise selon la presente invention par la connexion d'une impedance auxiliaire (340) en serie a l'impedance de charge reliee a l'un desdits convertisseurs CA-CC. 4 MULTIPLEX MODE AMPLIFIER / YOKOGAWA HEWLETT PACKARD LTD
(PURPOSE) To increase the power efficiency, by selecting a linear mode or a switching mode in response to the level of an input signal. (CONSTITUTION) The signal CC transmitted through a line 45 is supplied to an amplifier 310 which works in a linear mode as well as to an amplifier 330 which works in a switching mode respectively. The output signals of both amplifiers are supplied to a mode selector 3700. The selector 3700 supplies the output of a pulse width modulator 3500 to a power amplifier 390 when the amplitude of the signal CC is larger than 1V on the line 45. While the output signal of the amplifier 310 is supplied to the amplifier 3900 when the amplitude of the signal CC is smaller than 0.5V. When the amplitude of the signal CC is set between 0.5∼1V, the selection has a hysteresis action. A switching mode is used for such as big action as to drive a servomotor; while a linear mode is used for a fine adjustment. Thus, the power efficiency is increased.
5 ALUMINA, EXTRUSION MOLDED ARTICLE OF ALUMINA AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR / RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LTD
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alumina useful as a carrier for manufacturing catalysts, a catalyst or an absorbent, an alumina extrusion molded article and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: There are provided alumina having surface area of 330 to 400 m2/g, pore volume of 1.2 to 1.7 cc/g and average pore diameter of 125 to 160 Å, further an alumina extrusion molded article with diameter of 1 mm to 3 mm, surface area of 300 to 360 m2/g, pore volume of 0.8 to 1.3 cc/g, pore diameter of 90 to 130 Å, crush strength of 1 to 2.5 daN/mm, and a manufacturing method of the alumina and the alumina extrusion molded article, in which metal carried amount is increased, metal dispersion rate is enhanced and catalyst inactivation due to pore blockage is delayed.SELECTED DRAWING: None
6 METAL HALIDE LAMP / HARISON TOSHIBA LIGHTING CORP
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal halide lamp capable of irradiating light having a wavelength ranging from 300 to 330 nm. SOLUTION: The metal halide lamp comprises a rare gas 1, an airtight receptacle 2, electrodes 3 and 4 and lead wires 5. In the metal halide lamp in which at least mercury and talium iodide are sealed, providing that an inner diameter D of a discharge tube is in the order of ≤30 mm and an input power per centimeter of a discharge tube length (W/cm) is 60 W/cm or more and a potential gradient D (V/cm) at stable lighting conditions is from 9 V/cm to 30 V/cm, a sealed quantity M (mg/cc) of indium, manganese and bismuth respectively is ≥0.01 mg/cc.

9 STRUCTURE OF SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE / OKI ELECTRIC IND CO LTD
(PURPOSE) To improve the flatness and step coverage of O3 TEOS-NSG by controlling the film quality of plasma CVD silicon oxide film without any absorption of H-OH appearing near the specific value of infrared ray absorption spectrum and without any increase of absorption due to leaving in atmosphere. (CONSTITUTION) Plasma CVD silicon oxide film (P-SiO) is subjected to 2000Å growth. The P-SiO film quality is controlled so that no H-OH appearing near 3400cm-1 of infrared ray absorption spectrum is absorbed and the absorption is not increased due to leaving in atmosphere. The film quality is achieved under the following conditions, namely TEOS flow rate of 330cc/min using a parallel flat-plate plasma CVD device with a discharge frequency of 13.56MHz, O2 flow rate of 730cc/min, a pressure of 10Torr, a temperature of 390°C, a distance between electrodes of 4.7mm, and RF power of 2.0W/cm2 , thus reducing the hygroscopic property of O3 TEOS-NSG (silicon oxide film by the chemical vapor phase growth at normal temperatures).
10 POLYPHENYLENE SULFIDE FILM / TORAY IND INC
(PURPOSE) To provide titled film of improved weatherability, incorporated with specific benzotriazole compound. (CONSTITUTION) The objective film can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts. wt. of polyphenylene sulfide (hereafter referred to PPS) constituted mainly by structural unit of formula I with (B) 0.01W10 (pref. 0.1W3)pts.wt. of a compound having in one molecule at least one benzotriazole group (of formula II), having a molecular weight ≥360 (pref. ≥460) (pref. one capable of absorbing rays of wave lengths ranging 350W400mμ) followed by film making. Said PPS film has a virtual density 1,330W1,390g/cc, being pref. 50W100,000 (pref. 70W 50,000) poises in appearent melt viscosity at 300°C under a shear rate of 200sec-1 .
