1 REMOTE TEACHING SYSTEM / KOBE STEEL LTD
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the load of a teacher site apparatus and to obviate the degradation in processing efficiency in the case where the number of student site apparatus are more by providing the system with a teaching material selecting meansfor excavating the selection processing of the teaching materials supplied from the teacher site apparatus on the student site apparatus.SOLUTION: This remote teaching system comprises the teacher site TS, student sites SS1 so SSn and teaching material storage sites CS1, CS2 storing the teaching material connected via a communication network, such as internet/ intranet. Teaching materialselection logic (teaching material selecting means) is transmitted to the student site side after the communication with the student sites SS is established. This logic is constituted as an applet operating on the student sites SS. The student sites SShave a selection setting function to set the students' choices, a teaching material acquiring and display function to execute the acquisition and display of the teaching materials and an applet execution function to execute the teaching materialselection logic downloaded from the teacher site TS. These functions are more specifically embodied by an HTML document reading program.
